The mission of adult ministry is to prepare, challenge, and inspire men and women to a life of Christian discipleship. It is our desire and mission that every adult become a full and fulfilled disciple of Jesus Christ, and that each person will have a passion for Christian service, whether it is across the street or around the globe.
We have various classes of Christian Education for every age and stage at First Church. Our classes study the Bible and Spiritual Life topics and they meet every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
The Men's and Ladies Bible Class - Meets in the Little Bible Classroom. This class is broadcast live on WNNC, 1230 am at 10:00 AM each Sunday. It is the longest continuous Christian Sunday School Broadcast in the world.
The Parker/Love Class - Meets in the Gomedela Room and are adults from 50 up who love a great Sunday School Lesson, participate in local missions, and regular evening outings for food and relaxation.
Faithbuilders Class - Meets below the Sanctuary and are adults from 45 up who love discussion, Bible Study, current issues and an occasional video lesson.
Faith and Fellowship Class - Meets on the top level of the sanctuary building. Members are adults from 30 - 50 who are young families or young singles who love discussion, fellowship outings, and Bible related topics.
Cornerstone Class - Meets on the top level of the sanctuary building and includes adults age 20-40. The class focuses on "actively listening to God's voice", discipleship and occasional family outings.
Coffee and Conversations Class - Meets on the lower level in the Fellowship Hall. This class is a new Sunday school experience which is informal and intergenerational.
JOY (Just Older Youth) Fellowship
“JOY” Ministry was started with the purpose of bringing seniors together within our churches and community for fellowship and service in order to nourish the body, mind, and soul. We meet the 2nd Thursday of every month in the Fellowship Hall. Coffee/refreshments available at 9:30 a.m., and the program begins at 10 a.m. Lunch Reservations are required. Donations accepted.
