Youth Ministry at First UMC Newton is a wonderful experience of learning and growing while having fun! We play games, act silly, sing songs, learn about the Bible, and share real experiences of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Below are some of the things we do. Contact Deacon Shannon for more information.
All 6th-12th graders are welcome!

SUNDAY SChOoL

Youth (6th-12th Grade) meet in the fellowship hall on Sunday school room on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Deacon Shannon leads the group in discussion and exploration of Bible stories and current events. We share our joys and concerns together in prayer.

Youth Group

First Newton UMC Youth is a place for 6th-12th graders to come together to grow in our relationship with God and with one another as we learn, play, worship, and serve together. We enjoy fellowship and spiritual formation at our Youth Group meetings and enjoy special fun outings and service projects. Youth Group is an awesome place to have fun and grow in your faith, all while developing meaningful, lasting relationships with peers and adult leaders.

WILDERNESS TRAIL & Mini Trail

Amazing things happen when you take people out of their comfort zone and place them in the beauty of God's creation. Wilderness Trail takes groups of youth on 5-day backpacking journeys on the Appalachian Trail. “Trail is the most fun you can have in the same set of clothes for a week.” - Jamie Richard  New in 2020: Mini-Trail - an introductory experience to camping and being in nature for a whole week.

Youth Retreats

Retreats are a fun way to grow closer to God and one another! We go on Winter & Summer Retreats, and have a few Youth Overnights. We worship, play, eat, and have fun learning together!

Missions/Outreach

We participate in missions/outreach projects throughout the year. We partner with the Corner Table Soup Kitchen, DSS, Safe Harbor, ECCCM, and other agencies in our community to show love to our neighbors.
