The mission of the Congregational Care Team is to care for the spiritual, physical, emotional and relational needs of the members that make up First United Methodist Church Newton. With attentiveness, kindness and compassion, this ministry follows Christ’s commandment to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12). Members of the team will visit, call, send cards and support anyone going through a difficult season in life because of sickness, grief, loss, or challenge. This includes our shut-ins and those who may feel disconnected from the physical embodiment of the church. Every Christian is gifted and called by God to be in ministry. This ministry of empathy and love is a simple but profound way to answer God’s call to be in service to the kingdom.
