This week, Rev. Lory Beth Huffman (Appalachian District Superintendent) will preach a sermon titled "Hearts on Fire."
On the Road to Emmaus, the disciples were transformed. They went from eyes closed to recognizing Jesus to realizing their hearts were on fire after the fact. How many times are our eyes closed to Jesus around us? How do we live as disciples whose hearts are on fire versus closed and unseeing? But transformation is hard work and Jesus is not always there walking with us on the side of the road explaining everything not us. Let’s live as disciples of today with hearts on fire seeing Jesus in our midst.
To prepare for this week, the scripture is Luke 24: 13-35.
