Once a week, members of First UMC Newton enter the doors of Alexander Correctional Institution, a maximum security state prison located in Taylorsville. These volunteers lead Disciple Bible Study with around 20 inmates. In a period of 24 weeks, participants read the vast majority of the Bible as it transforms their hearts and lives.
Also, once every couple months, we lead worship at Alexander Correctional. This is a joyful celebration of God's love for us through music, prayer, and preaching.
